Designed with your comfort in mind, our apartments offer convenient features, a prime location, and affordable prices. Gould & Brownstone Apartments offers a variety of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom units. Our living and sleeping spaces are some of the largest in the area. We also boast a prime location situated directly across from the Bierman Athletic Facility and just 1 block from Target and 5 blocks from Huntington Bank Stadium. Despite the spaciousness and convenience, our prices are competitive allowing you a dynamic off-campus experience without breaking the bank!


While the Gould Modern is a more recent addition built in 2014 with updated features, clean design, and easy comforts, the Brownstone Classics are a historic legacy. Built in the 1890s, these structures are part of the Fifth Street Southeast Historic District, a neighborhood that predates the establishment of the City of Minneapolis. It is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) residential neighborhood in the city established in the mid-nineteenth century, developing through Minneapolis’s lumber and flour milling industries, and resulting in the booming population and active university scene we know today. It is also rumored Bob Dylan lived in the Brownstone apartments in 1959. These units embrace the buildings' history offering a unique aesthetic of classic design elements and hardwood floors.  


Please TEXT to schedule an in-person tour and request a lease application. We will email a digital lease to be reviewed and signed. There is a $40 application fee. A deposit of 1-month's rent will also be required to confirm the lease agreement; this deposit will be refunded at the end of the lease term, assuming there are no issues.


Active students or recent graduates still living with their enrolled student friends are our targeted customers.    


12-month GROUP leases are our preferred agreement process. This saves you the hassle of securing a guarantor and legal headache that can come with guarantors. 9-month leases are available in some cases.


We are happy to work with you to house your full group. The apartments are legal for up to five unrelated residents. There is an additional charge for more people than bedrooms.


Apartments are available via a group lease. We do not offer single bedroom leases nor do we provide roommate matching.


Yes! There are two levels of indoor parking.  Parking rates are equivalent to $170 or $210 per month depending on level and must be rented and paid for full semester terms.


All units in the Gould & Brownstone Apartments come with free WiFi connection for tenant provided router. Rent for the Brownstone Classics includes all utilities. For the Gould Modern, tenants are responsible for electricity and gas (heat) as each apartment has its own system controlled by the residents.  


Cats are warmly welcomed in any of the Brownstone Classics units at no additional charge! Small caged animals are welcome in all units.


Gould Modern units come fully furnished. This includes couches, coffee table, chairs, bar stools, desks, desk chairs, and full-size beds and/or bunks. Apartments also include in-unit washer and dryer, 2 full-size refrigerators, dishwasher, and microwave.


Brownstone Classics units are not furnished. However, each has 1 or 2 full-size refrigerators and a dishwasher. Free laundry facilities are available in the building.


The Gould Modern has two units that are fully ADA-compliant. All apartments are accessible by both stairs and elevator. 


Gould & Brownstone Apartments is a small, family-run business. Daily management and maintenance is operated by Rusty Turpin. Not a problem! Gould & Brownstone Apartments understands that college is a time to go where the wind takes you. We have a flexible and easy subletting policy.
