Gould & Brownstone Apartments offers a variety of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom units. Our living and sleeping spaces are some of the largest in the area. We also boast a prime location situated directly across from the Bierman Athletic Facility and just 1 block from Target and 5 blocks from Huntington Bank Stadium. Despite the spaciousness and convenience, our prices are competitive allowing you a dynamic off-campus experience without breaking the bank!

While the Gould Building is a more recent addition built in 2014 with modern features, clean design, and easy comforts, the Brownstone Buildings are a historic legacy. Built in the 1870s, these structures are part of the Fifth Street Southeast Historic District, a neighborhood that predates the establishment of the City of Minneapolis. It is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) residential neighborhood in the city established in the mid-nineteenth century, developing through Minneapolis’ lumber and flour milling industries, and resulting in the booming population and active university scene we know today. It is also rumored Bob Dylan lived in the Brownstone Building apartments in 1959. These units embrace the buildings' history offering a unique aesthetic of classic design elements and hardwood floors.

A deposit of 1-month's rent will also be required to confirm the lease agreement; this deposit will be refunded at the end of the lease term (apartment condition depending).

Our Gould & Brownstone Apartments are reserved for university students. You must be currently enrolled at a local campus to be considered for an application. We also only offer group leases for 2–5 students. Individual renters will not be considered.

Group leases are our preferred agreement process. This ensures collective responsibility and saves you the hassle of securing a guarantor. While our leases typically run 12-months, 9-month leases can be made available as requested.

We are happy to work with you to house your full group. Each apartment can accommodate one additional tenant beyond the total number of bedrooms. An additional charge will be added to the unit's monthly total rent.

Apartments are only available as a group lease. Individual bedrooms cannot be rented alone. If your group is smaller than the total number of bedrooms, the total apartment rental rate remains the same.

Yes! Gould & Brownstone Apartments is pleased to offer a secure, indoor 2-level parking garage. The garage is only accessible with key-access via the outside door or inside the building. Any tenant is eligible for parking, though spaces are limited to one per tenant. Monthly rental rates are $170 or $210 depending on parking space location.

All units in the Gould & Brownstone Apartments come with free WiFi. Rental rates for Brownstone Building also include all other utilities. For the Gould Building, water, trash and sewer are included in rental rate; tenant is only responsible for electric and heat.  

Cats are warmly welcomed in any of the Brownstone Building units at no additional charge! Dogs are not allowed in any unit. Have another kind of pet? Reach out and we will review on a case by case basis.

Gould Building units come fully furnished. This includes couches, coffee table, chairs, bar stools, desks, desk chairs, and full-size beds and/or bunks. Apartments also include in-unit washer and dryer, 2 full-size refrigerators, dishwasher, and microwave.

Brownstone Building units are not furnished. However, each has 1 or 2 full-size refrigerators and a dishwasher. Free laundry rooms are available on-site in the building.

The Gould Building has two units that are fully ADA-compliant. All Gould apartments are accessible by both stairs and elevator. Outdoor access provided by a ground-level sidewalk and entrance door equipped with ADA-compliant door opener.

Brownstone Building units are only accessible by stairs, both from outside and inside the building.
